Who We Are

Community Private Police Service INC (hereafter CPPS) provides armed private police officers and/or unarmed security guards. Our services are available 24-hours per day, 7 days per week. CPPS utilizes professional, well trained officers who provide effective and efficient security services. Our services will impact the full range of your security concerns and go well beyond security and surveillance by making a sincere effort to understand and establish an excellent rapport with all. CPPS can and will accomplish your security needs by bringing proven leadership and tested experience into the selection, training and management of a security force of dedicated people.

History & Experience

CPPS was established and incorporated on March 4, 1996 by Gregory Hemphill, President and Chief of Security. CPPS is a community based organization, primarily providing services within the inner-city of Cleveland for the past twelve years.

Qualifications

All CPPS administrators and officers are fully trained and licensed as required by the City of Cleveland and the State of Ohio. The following qualifications are required:
  • Private Police Training
  • Ohio Peace Officers Training Council Firearms Certificate (OPOTC)
  • City of Cleveland Private Police Commission
  • City of Cleveland Bond
  • Record & Background Check
  • Drug Testing

  • Article of Incorporation, State of Ohio, August, 1989
  • $1,000,000 Comprehensive General Liability Insurance
  • $1,000,000 Personal Damage Insurance
  • $25,000 Dishonesty Bond (per officer)
